On June 24, 2025, a significant milestone for the regional creative industry was marked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish the ASEAN Gifts and Craft Federation (AGCF). This newly formed alliance brings together gift and craft associations from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, with the aim of fostering collaboration, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing ASEAN’s competitiveness in the global market.
Representing Thailand at the signing ceremony was Ms. Vilasinee Churat, President of the Thai Gifts Premiums & Decorative Association (TGP), who also assumed the role of Vice President of the AGCF for the 2025–2028 term.
The AGCF is envisioned as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, joint marketing initiatives, and regional capacity building, especially among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). During the event, the official AGCF Council for 2025–2028 was also announced, comprising representatives from the four founding countries.
The establishment of the AGCF signifies a major step forward in strengthening ASEAN’s soft power and elevating its rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship onto the international stage.
